All About Me

Adorina Moshava is a microbiology student from Dr. Sean Murray’s research group at California State University, Northridge.  She is currently doing research at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) through the Science Teacher and Researcher (STAR) Program.  Adorina’s thesis work is on the P1 promoter of the Caulobacter crescentus cell cycle master regulator CtrA which is necessary for normal growth and development.  Adorina’s work at JPL involves determination of the probability of growth of the cryophilic microorganism Clostridium vincentii at Mars conditions that can contribute to the NASA Planetary Protection Mission and life detection.

Adorina’s goal is to collaborate research with teaching science at secondary school education level 6-12.  She believes science education with research is the key to success for young students.
